Where 25G fits
25G SFP28 has become the default server-to-leaf rate in new builds because it reuses the SFP form factor and the same duplex LC fibre as 10G, so you upgrade the optics and the switch without re-cabling. An SFP28 cage is backward compatible with SFP+, which makes a staged migration straightforward.
